Cookie Policy

Short version: we don't use tracking cookies. The only browser storage we set is 3 specific localStorage items, listed below.

1. What This Page Is

This Cookie Policy tells you what browser storage MyAIHardware uses, why, and how you can control it. It supplements our Privacy Policy.

2. What Is a Cookie (and Why We Mostly Don't Use Them)

A "cookie" is a small text file a website asks your browser to store. Sites typically use them to log you in, remember preferences, or track you across the web for ads. We do not use first-party tracking cookies. Our analytics (Plausible + Vercel) are both cookieless by design, they don't set cookies, don't use fingerprinting, and don't track you across other sites. The browser storage we use is localStorage, which never leaves your device.

3. What We Actually Store

The complete list:

  • myai_bench_last_visit , localStorage, your last visit time on the benchmarks page, used to show "X new benchmarks since your last visit". Cleared if you clear browser storage.
  • myai_price_alerts , localStorage, any price-alert preferences you set on the Price Tracker. Stored client-side only; never sent to our server.
  • myai_chat_session , in-memory only, your current chatbot conversation; lost on page refresh by design.

That's the whole list. If we ever add more, this page will be updated and a banner will appear at the top of the Site.

4. Third-Party Cookies (Off-Site)

When you click an outbound link, the destination may set its own cookies. Specifically:

  • Amazon sets affiliate-tracking cookies on amazon.com when you click one of our affiliate links. This is how Amazon attributes the referral to our associate tag (fredoline-20). These cookies are governed by Amazon's own privacy policy, not ours. We do not see what you buy.
  • GitHub, YouTube, Reddit, vendor sites set their own cookies when you follow source citations to those domains. Treat each external site as having its own policy.

We do not embed Facebook Pixel, Google Tag Manager, Hotjar, or similar surveillance third-parties.

5. Hosting & Security Cookies (Vercel)

Our host, Vercel, may set temporary security cookies (DDoS protection, IP rate limiting). These are strictly necessary to operate the Site. Vercel acts as a data processor; see their privacy policy.

6. Managing Storage

You can clear localStorage at any time via your browser settings (usually under "Privacy", "Site Data", or "Clear browsing data"). You can also use private/incognito mode, which discards all local storage when you close the tab. Clearing storage will reset any preferences you set; the Site will still function.

7. Cookieless Analytics In Use

We run two cookieless analytics providers. Neither sets browser cookies and neither uses fingerprinting or cross-site tracking:
  • Plausible Analytics, measures page views, referrers, outbound clicks. No cookies, no fingerprinting, no cross-site tracking. Their privacy commitments.
  • Vercel Analytics + Speed Insights, measures page views and Core Web Vitals (LCP, CLS, INP). Cookieless. Vercel's privacy doc.

If we ever add any cookie-based tooling, we will update this page first, show a consent banner on first visit, and provide a clear opt-out switch in the Site footer.

8. Changes

We may update this Cookie Policy when our practices change. The Effective Date above reflects the current version.
