Privacy Policy

Effective May 28, 2026

Short version: we collect the absolute minimum, we don't run third-party analytics, we don't sell your data, and you can email us to delete anything we hold about you.

1. Who We Are

MyAIHardware ("we", "our", "us") publishes AI hardware benchmarks, buying guides, and tools for local LLM builders. The site is operated by an independent individual founder. No registered company entity exists yet; this notice will be updated when one is formed. Contact: [email protected].

2. What We Collect

We collect only what we need:
  • Newsletter sign-ups: email address + optional interest tags you select.
  • Benchmark submissions: contributor name, optional email, the hardware specs and metrics you submit, the source URL you cite. These are forwarded to a public GitHub issue tracker (you are submitting publicly).
  • Chatbot ("Ask MyAIHardware"): the text of your messages, for the duration of one conversation. Messages are forwarded to our model providers (see Section 5) to generate a response. We do not log chat content server-side beyond what's needed to debug an outage.
  • Server logs: our host (Vercel) records IP addresses, user-agent strings, and request paths for security and uptime. Vercel retains these per its own policy.
  • Local storage in your browser: we use localStorage to remember your last benchmark-page visit and to store any price-alert preferences you set. These never leave your device.

Analytics we DO use (both cookieless):

  • Plausible Analytics, measures page views, referrers, outbound clicks. No cookies, no personal data, no cross-site tracking. Plausible's privacy commitments.
  • Vercel Analytics + Speed Insights, measures page views + Core Web Vitals (LCP, CLS, INP). Cookieless. Vercel's privacy doc.

We do NOT use: Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, Hotjar, Mixpanel, Segment, or any cross-site retargeting tracker. We do not sell or rent your data.

3. Why We Process It

We process data only when you give us a clear signal to do so, signing up for the newsletter, submitting a benchmark, sending a chatbot message , or where it is operationally necessary to keep the site running (security logs, fraud prevention). You can withdraw a sign-up at any time by emailing [email protected] or using the unsubscribe link in any newsletter email.

4. Cookies & Tracking

We do not set first-party tracking cookies. The only browser storage we use is localStorage for site preferences and last-visit timestamps. Some pages (notably product cards) may load images from Amazon's CDN; Amazon may set its own cookies on its own domain when you click an affiliate link, this is governed by Amazon's privacy policy, not ours. 5. Who We Share It With (Data Processors)

We use the following processors to operate the site. Each acts only on documented instructions and is bound by its own privacy terms.
  • Vercel Inc. (USA), hosting, CDN, server logs, Analytics + Speed Insights (cookieless).
  • Plausible Insights OÜ, privacy-focused page-view + outbound-click analytics. No cookies, no personal data leaves your browser.
  • GitHub, Inc., source code; benchmark submissions are filed as public GitHub Issues (you choose what to submit).
  • Buttondown, newsletter list manager (only if you sign up).
  • DeepSeek, primary chatbot inference provider; chat text is transmitted in real time and is not retained by us. Their retention is governed by DeepSeek's policy.
  • Sentry, Inc., error tracking (only if a JavaScript error occurs in your browser; payload is the error stack, not your inputs).

We do not sell, rent, or trade your data with anyone else.

6. International Transfers

Our processors operate in multiple jurisdictions, so your data may be processed outside your country of residence. By using the site you understand that your data may travel internationally to those processors.

7. How Long We Keep It

  • Newsletter email: until you unsubscribe (one-click link in every email) plus 30 days for suppression-list compliance.
  • Benchmark submissions: indefinitely on the public GitHub issue tracker, because they are public contributions to a public dataset (CC-BY 4.0).
  • Chatbot transcripts: not retained by us. Provider retention is governed by the inference provider's own policy.
  • Server logs: retained by Vercel per its policy, typically 30 days.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you have the right to:
  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Request correction or deletion ("right to be forgotten").
  • Object to or restrict processing.
  • Receive a copy of your data in a portable format.
  • Withdraw consent at any time.
  • Lodge a complaint with the regulator that has jurisdiction in your location.

9. California Residents (CCPA / CPRA)

Under the California Consumer Privacy Act and California Privacy Rights Act, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, to delete it, to correct it, to opt out of "sale" or "sharing" for cross-context behavioural advertising, and to non-discrimination for exercising these rights. We do not "sell" or "share" personal information as defined by these laws. Email [email protected] to exercise any CCPA/CPRA right; mark your message "California Privacy Request".

10. Affiliate Disclosure

MyAIHardware is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program (associate tag: fredoline-20), an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com. We may receive a small commission, at no extra cost to you, when you make a qualifying purchase through our links.

On the Cost-of-Inference Calculator (/cost-calculator), when the "rent instead of buy" branch is shown, we link out to three cloud-GPU providers, RunPod, Vast.ai, and Lambda Labs. Partner applications with these providers are pending as of June 2026; once approved, the referral links may pay us a recurring percentage of your usage or a one-time signup bounty. This still costs you nothing extra and never changes which provider we recommend.

Affiliate participation does not influence editorial recommendations.

11. Children's Privacy

The site is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, email [email protected] and we will delete it promptly.

12. Security

We use HTTPS site-wide, security headers (HSTS, X-Frame-Options, Content-Security-Policy, Referrer-Policy), and least-privilege keys for all processors. No internet transmission is 100% secure; we encourage you not to submit sensitive personal data through the site.

13. Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy when our practices change. Material changes will be flagged at the top of the page and, where required, re-notified via email to active newsletter subscribers. The "Effective Date" above always reflects the current version.
